A visit to Gujarat Engineering Research Institute (GERI)
Gujarat Engineering Research Institute(GERI) is one of the leading state research institutes in the country. The activities of the institute are centered around investigation and testing of Construction Materials, Research and Development, Soil Mechanics, Geo-mechanics, Engineering Geology, Hydraulic Model Study, Sedimentation Survey, Road Research Study etc. So Students of civil department visited GERI on 1st February 2020 and got knowledge about various fields of civil engineering.
A VISIT TO BHADAR DAM
Department of civil engineering has recently arranged a technical visit at Bhadar dam at Lilakha village, Jetpur Taluka for students of 5th Sem diploma on 25/09/2019.Student visited the dam and learnt about different components and its function Like Site Map, Geological Formation, Operation of gates, Spillway,Canal, Drainage Gallery, D/S side, Stealing Basin etc.
A visit to Weather Forecast Station
To know about different aspects of hydrology like rain, wind speed, evaporation, humidity Students of 5th Semester civil engineering visited the weather stations at Lilakha village, Jetpur Taluka and learnt about this different methods of measurements of humidity, rain, evaporation etc.
Visit of Waste Water Treatment Plant
Department of civil engineering had organized the visit of Common Effluent Treatment Plant [CETP] at location in Bhat gam taluka Bhesan, Gujarat on 8th February 2019. Mr. Gondaliya , the in charge officer & engineer of water treatment plant guided all the students of 6th semester about entire process of water treatment plant and components used in treatment plant.
Visit Of Jetalsar Railway Station Junction
The Department of Civil engineering visited a Railway Station at Jetalsar junction with students on 8th February 2019. Main purpose of arranging the visit of railway station was to give the knowledge about construction & function of different components of railway station like railway slippers, ballast, butt joints etc.
