Celebration of Engineers Day
Engineers day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of well-known Engineer Sir Mokhshagundam Vishveshraya who gave his valuable contribution to the civil engineering industry. On the celebration of Engineers Day, Department of CIVIL engineering has organized Quiz competition The Quiz competition is organized for technical as well as non-technical concepts. More than 40 students of diploma Civil has participated in this celebration.
Project Fair 2K18
Om Institute of Engineering and technology, junagadh organised project fair on 17th April-2018 for final year diploma students as per GTU guidelines. Total 8 projects from civil department were displayed in the project fair. This project fair provided platform to young budding engineers to showcase their talent, technical skills and creates healthy competition amongst them to perform better, which eventually works towards enhancing their technical skills.
Candy Bridge
Candy Bridge event was organised by the Department of Civil Engineering as a part of National level Technical Event SPECTR-OM 2018 held in Om Education Campus. There were total 57 participants in the Candy Bridge event. Candy Bridge event is to make bridge by using candy sticks and cotton thread according to specified design criteria. The main objective of conducting this event is to get an idea of about bridge structure stability & to understand the behaviour of cable stayed bridge under vertical load.
BUILD IT UP
In the Spectrom 2k18, Civil engineering department organised a technical event BUILD IT UP in which total 54 students from the different colleges were participated. BUILD IT UP event is to make a structure with the help of plastic straws and cello tap, after that Load testing was performed and stability of the structure was decided. The main objective of the event was students create model structure using straw and tape as their construction materials.
CAD MANIA
Civil engineering department has organised technical event CAD Mania in SPECTR-OM 2018 for students to test their CAD skill. This competition provides challenge to students for creative design, successful problem solving, and appropriate use of technology in preparing architectural drawings. In CAD Mania event 37 students from different colleges were participated & created different plans in Auto CAD.
