The waste water treatment plant which is also called a Common Effluent Treatment Plant [CETP] constructed at Bhat Gam Bhesan Taluka, Gujarat to treat the effluent arising from around 200 washing Ghats. Students of civil engineering visited this treatment plant on 17th february 2020 to understand the process and function of each and every unit of plant.
Civil engineering students visited Jetalsar Junction on 17th Fabruary 2020 which is the main Railway Junction which connect most of trains of the Region of Junagadh. Jetalsar junction is also useful to civil engineering students to understand the civil structures practically like Foot Over Bridge, Gantry girder, Joints Between Rails, Connections etc.
Narmada Dam & sardar sarovar are one of the largest structure and a large hydraulic engineering project involving the construction of a series of large irrigation and hydro-electric multi-purpose dams on the Narmada river. Students of Civil Department visited Narmada Dam and got the information and knowledge about the components of dam, hydro-power plant and its construction.
Recently Civil department students visited the Statue of Unity which is the tallest statue of world. Construction monument dedicated to Indian independence movement leader Vallabh bhai Patel. It is 182m high, made of steel framing and reinforced concrete. Students also visited The museum of Shree Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel which is constructed near the statue of unity.
Gujarat Engineering Research Institute (GERI) is one of the leading state research institutes in the country. The activities of the institute are centered around investigation and testing of Construction Materials, Research and Development, Soil Mechanics, Geo-mechanics, Engineering Geology, Hydraulic Model Study, Sedimentation Survey, Road Research Study etc. So Students of civil department visited GERI on 1st February 2020 and got knowledge about various fields of civil engineering.
