SARDAR SAROVAR DAM
Department of civil engineering had organized the visit of Sardar Sarovar dam, near Navagam on 11th September 2015. About 64 students were participated in this visit who get the information and knowledge about the components of dam, hydro-power plant and its construction which is very useful for 5th semester & 7th semester for their subjective study.
WASTE WATER TRETMENT PLANT
Department of civil engineering had organized the visit of Common Effluent Treatment Plant [CETP] of 2000000 liters/day water treatment capacity at location in Jetpur, Gujarat on 7th February 2015.Mr. Gondaliya , the in charge officer & engineer of water treatment plant guided all the 59 students of 6th semester about entire process of water treatment plant and components used in treatment plant.
CONSTRUCTION SITE OF MEDICAL COLLEGE
From the construction site visit, Students get practical knowledge about design of building, its components, about scaffolding, sieve analysis and the reinforced structure,stirrups, study about excavated soil, basic idea about bearing capacity of soil,strength of soil, production of block & about the working of block making machine, working of batching plant of concrete, construction work of PCC, foundation work.
MUNDRA PORT - ADANI
The department of Civil Engineering has organized visit of Adani Foundation at Mundra Port on 3rd August 2014 for 8th semester to enhance their subjective knowledge. From this visit, about 74 students learned to utilize practical knowledge like design of docks and shipyard and got familiar with industrial environment.
WILLINCDON RESERVOIR
A visit for willincdon dam was arranged to explain the students about various parts of the dam such as water controlling gate, spillway water collection and flowing system etc. Willincdon dam is an open flow water type earthen dam & its top width is 10 feet. There are used spillway to reduce the flow speed of water.
